  • Marine Photographic Squadron VMD-154 - History of United States Marine Corps Photographic Squadron VMD-154 which was stationed at Camp Elrod, Espiritu Santo Island, New Hebrides (now called Vanuatu) in the South Pacific. This WWII Marine photographic squadron flew aerial reconnaissance missions over numerous South Pacific islands to locate Japanese airstrips and monitor their activities. The squadron used B-24 Liberators for their aerial recon missions.
